Having been fully trained in the UK, I was a consultant Paediatric surgeon at St Georges University Hospital, London for 2 years before returning to my homeland, Malaysia in mid 2012. Here I was a Professor of Paediatric Surgery at University Malaya. In 2016, I spent nearly 2 years as a consultant surgeon at the Gold coast University Hospital, Australia, to help set up the Paediatric Surgical service and notably for my work with minimal invasive paediatric surgery and urology. At the same time, I was awarded the Fellow of the Australasian College of surgeons in Paediatric Surgery. I am now permanently practicing in KL and offer advance keyhole surgery for kids, which is not widely available in the ASEAN region.

I am a keen teacher and have been teaching keyhole surgery to Paediatric Surgeons around the region and locally, with the ambition that most surgical centres would offer keyhole surgery for our kids. I am also an invited trainer/lecturer, at the world renowned Centre of Excellence for Minimal Access Surgery unit, in Mumbai, India. I have many chapters in text-books, medical journals, news papers and magazines articles on children surgery and on keyhole children surgery and urology.

My practice includes common procedures such as hypospadias repair, keyhole surgery for urological procedures like pyeloplasties, keyhole surgeries for general procedures such as appendicectomies, choledochal malformations, neonatal malformation and for keyhole lung and chest surgeries for babies and children. I provide the most advanced and highest quality of care for all my patients. Children surgery should be done precisely whilst causing minimal scarring to the child to remain problem free for their lifetime.

Procedures

Most procedures I perform are minimally invasive or keyhole, with excellent recovery, minimal pain, quick recovery and leaving minimal scars. The benefits of keyhole surgery cannot be over-emphasized as in the long term, scars, both outside and inside can cause problems in the lifetime of a young child having surgery
